Where to Practise Reading Charts, With Feedback
You can only get better at reading charts by reading a lot of them and finding out whether you were right. A live demo account gives you the first half and almost none of the second, which is why people screen-time for months without improving.

Why practice usually fails
Three reasons, and none of them is effort.
- No feedback loop. A live trade takes hours or days to resolve and by then you cannot separate the read from the luck.
- Too few repetitions. A real-time demo might hand you a handful of genuine setups in a week. A replay can hand you a hundred in an afternoon.
- No scoring. Without a score you remember the trades that confirmed what you already believed.

- Read the tape. The chart advances one bar at a time and you call what comes next. This is the core one and it is where most of the improvement comes from.
- Mark the level. Draw where you expect a reaction and get scored against the level price actually respected.
- Candle sort. Shapes without their names, so recognition is trained instead of vocabulary.
- Call the news. A high impact release lands and you decide what it does to this chart.
How much practice is enough
Enough that the read is automatic before money is involved, which is a different bar for everybody and is not measured in weeks. The honest test is whether you can say, before the next bar prints, what would make you wrong. If you cannot, more repetitions is the answer rather than another indicator.
