- Previous session high and low. The most watched levels on any chart. Price often reacts the first time it returns to them, and a clean break through one tells you which side was stronger yesterday.
- Pivot points. A fixed formula from the last session's high, low and close: P = (H + L + C) / 3, R1 = 2P - L, S1 = 2P - H, R2 = P + (H - L), S2 = P - (H - L). Because so many traders and platforms draw the same numbers, they become places where orders cluster.
- Weekly high and low. The bigger picture. A day that stays inside last week's range is a different day from one that breaks out of it.
- Round numbers. Stops and pending orders bunch at round prices, so they act as magnets and as speed bumps.

Method, and whose prices these are
The feed is OANDA's, read through the charting desk we trade and teach on. Each figure comes from completed daily bars only; the session still forming is never used. The daily bar opens at the New York close, so "previous session" means the last complete New York to New York day. Your broker's feed may differ by a few points or pips, which is normal for markets without a single consolidated price.
